LSPC Limited was appointed as Principal Contractor on this prestigious project.
The works entailed a full external refurbishment to an existing office and laboratory buildings of concrete construction.
The refurbishment works included a full replacement window package along with a thermal upgrade to the existing construction. The achieve the required thermal performance levels for the building we used a 60mm Phenolic insulation board and the building was then rendered in a Silicone K 1.5mm aggregate finish in white.
Existing service pipe runs were insulated internally and a Canadian red cedar frame was construction to cover the existing pipe work to enable future access.
Other areas of the project were also clad in the Canadian red cedar to give a complimentary, alternative finish to the rendered areas.
A powder coated aluminium capping was introduced to cover existing copings and to cap the newly installed external wall insulation system. New, matching aluminium rainwater goods were manufactured and fitted as required.
LSPC Limited engaged the services of Mertz Architects from Leicester in respect of all design elements on this project.
